Baby Swings for Little Ones
If you are a parent who is in need of baby swings for an outdoor swing set you should implement a search on the internet. Outdoor baby swings are readily available and the options are excellent. With such a large choice of baby swings available you will need to narrow your search by age range. That is because a Baby Swing is normally made for a specific age range. There are models specifically designed for infants under 6 to 9 months old and specific styles for toddlers up to age three. All of these types of swings are often referred to as baby swings. This article will discuss a few of the different designs that are on the market today.
High Back Molded Swing - This features a high seat back which offers support as babies are learning to sit up. The high back features an adjustable seat belt and molded (sometimes called a T-Bar) support. The swing is made for a wooden swing set or a metal swing set. Look for swings that include the heavy duty hardware and ropes which are weather resistant so it will withstand the elements.
Full bucket Swings - The Full bucket swings are made for young children, from 1 to 3 years of age. These are made of durable polymer with galvanized steel bucket hangers and rated for around 75 pounds. Look for models that are UV protected as this will keep the seat from getting hot when it is sunny outside. This type of swing is typically found at the local playground but now has been made for residential home use. Many styles feature the 360° design which envelopes the baby or toddler for highest degree security and safety. Look for swings that are commercial grade as it has a “spring steel” insert. Most full bucket swings are made with approximately 5’ 1” electro galvanized chains and have around 30” inches of chain, which have been hot dipped in plastisol for a “pinch-free” grip. The benefits and features of plastisol coated chains is that they provide an easier grip for tiny hands as it eliminates the pinch points plus it prevents the grip area from getting hot and eliminating burnt fingers on the hand.
Half bucket swings - This type has the wrap design and provides support similar to the full bucket but allows the toddler to begin learning how to move the swing back and forth as he learns how to pump. This is the perfect transition swing from the full bucket. It also has a safety chain belt across the front of the swing. Just like the full bucket the seats are polymer molded with galvanized bucket hangers and tow 5' 1" zinc plated chains with 30 inches of plastisol coating.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES:
1. You should never leave a baby or toddler unattended in child swing and adult supervision is a must at all times.
2. If the swing features a seat belt make sure to use it 100% of the time. Take that extra measure of caution and secure the child with seat belt.
3. If is advisable to take a look at the hardware , moving parts and rope or chain for wear at least once per month.
